We are honored and excited to welcome Edward Norton and Bill McKibben as our honorary judges for the Climate Future Film Festival! Their dedication to environmental stewardship, climate action, and environmental and social justice align closely with the mission and values of the festival.  We are extremely grateful for their participation and support of our project.

Edward NortonEdward Norton

Four-time Academy Award-nominated actor and filmmaker Edward Norton is also a longtime environmental and social advocate whose work extends far beyond the screen.

Norton serves as the United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for Biodiversity, helping spotlight the critical importance of protecting ecosystems and the natural world, and encouraging global action to preserve the planet’s biological diversity. Norton has also supported conservation and community-based sustainability efforts through leadership roles with organizations including WildAid, the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust and Enterprise Community Partners.

Throughout his career, he has been drawn to projects that engage with themes of justice, moral responsibility, and social change. His acclaimed performance in American History X, for example, confronts the realities of racism and extremism while emphasizing the difficult possibility of personal transformation.

Bill McKibbenBill McKibben

McKibben is one of the most influential voices in the modern climate movement and a pioneering writer and organizer whose work has helped shape public understanding of the environmental crisis.

He is the founder of Third Act, which mobilizes people over the age of 60 to take action on climate and justice, and a co-founder of 350.org, the first global grassroots climate campaign. Through decades of organizing, he has played a leading role in major efforts to challenge fossil fuel expansion and advance the worldwide divestment movement.

McKibben is the author of more than twenty books, including The End of Nature, one of the first widely read works to bring the issue of climate change to a general audience. His writing has appeared in publications such as The New Yorker and Rolling Stone, and his contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including the Right Livelihood Award and the Gandhi Peace Prize.
